I can’t talk about this subject enough. Sibling syndrome is a real thing. Some families go to pick up their puppy from the breeder, and decide to bring home a second pup. Some families actually intend to get 2 puppies, from the same litter. We have several families currently in the program that have pups from the same litter.

It can be so much fun to have 2 puppies. You may even think, they will keep each other company. But for most families, they may not be prepared for or understand that 2 puppies from the same litter can be an issue. Here’s why…

Your puppies have been together, since they were in the womb. Once born, they will spend the next 8 weeks or so, bonding with each other. When we bring them home, they have already built a relationship strong enough to lean and rely on each other. This can be problematic for the humans, to build the bond and relationship your new puppies.

This is Sherman and Fletcher. They started training with us when they were 10 weeks old. I won’t even lie, over the last 2 years, their family has struggled from time to time. However, they continue to persevere. I am honored that so many families trust us to be a part of the dog ownership journey with them.
