Hudson is an amazing 5 month old Goldendoodle. His family is ROCKING their work together. His Mom regularly takes him to The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, to visit his human in college.
In our recent session together, we resolved a couple of issues. He has started to jump on furniture, and then bark at Mom to let her know. Now that he’s a bit taller, he jumped on the couch and through the kitchen peep window, because it was the shortest route to a new guest. He started digging in the yard and counter surfing. Lastly, when he goes to doggy daycare, he gets so excited about being at his “fun” place, he forgets that he’s had any training and loses his calmness, as they step on property.
These are all normal behaviors, for a 5 month old puppy. In our training together, starting at 14 weeks old, we taught and set many baseline behaviors. This put a good deal of training tools in his toolbox. Being able to maneuver behaviors is so much easier, when you’ve put in a foundation of work.
As Hudson is maturing and exploring his boundaries, our follow up support comes into play. In this coming year, there are waves of highs and lows in your puppy’s growth. With our continued support and guidance, we want the behavior changes and development to feel more like ripples, rather than high peaks and low valleys. I am so incredibly proud of Hudson and his family for continuing to put in the work.
